I’m not one for FOMO: fear of missing out.
Instead I have what I happily refer to as JOMO…
The joy of missing out!
Seriously!
Nothing pleases me more than saying NO to something that just doesn’t resonate.
Like all those invitations, requests, and suggestions from others that don’t light my fire
, energize me
or make my heart sing
.
Buh-bye! ![]()
Maybe it’s got something to do with becoming more introverted as I get older — and relishing my time alone!
(Where I get to do what I want, when I want, for as long as I want! Helloooo freeeeeedom!)
Or maybe it’s because I’m a ”J” in Myers Briggs Personality Types. And saying no to requests helps me filter things out quickly?
(Reducing my overwhelm!)
Or maybe it’s cuz I’m a recovering people-pleaser, and saying no feels soooo deliciously self-honouring?
I dunno. Doesn’t really matter.
What does matter is this…
After years of being a yes-person and throwing myself under the bus for others, I’ve finally stepped into my own power.
And I’m fully embracing my JOMO vs FOMO ways.
No apologies! ![]()
Doing so makes me realize how far I’ve come.
How well I know myself now. And what does — and doesn’t — bring me joy.
And contrary to what some might think, having JOMO really isn’t about the joy of saying NO to others…
It’s about the joy of saying YES to YOU!
And YOUR happiness!
Doing more of what lights you up. ![]()
(No matter what anyone else thinks.)
But I get it — letting go of FOMO isn’t always easy.
You might feel pressure to say yes to things that drain you.
Or worry about what others will think if you choose what’s right for you.
Or maybe you struggle because you’re not even sure what it is you want — or what makes you happy.
Sound familiar?
That’s exactly why I created something to help.

So the next time someone asks you to do something that doesn’t quite feel right, you’ll be able to say no with peace — and say YES to what matters most.
(That’s the real magic of JOMO vs FOMO!) ![]()
Cuz true happiness doesn’t come from out there.
Nor from saying yes to All. The. Things.
Happiness comes from inside of you — and giving yourself permission to say yes or no — when YOU want.
So you can do what feels right for you, finally.
