Recently I took a little road trip to visit friends and family.
At first, I thought the best part would be the change of scenery and the break from my routine.
Or maybe even leaving my grown son to fend for himself.
(I mean buh-bye 👋 to sorting thru any more of his dirty laundry!)

And while all that was true, the real gift of my little two‑week getaway turned out to be something deeper.
It wasn’t just about visiting beautiful parts of the province, or shaking up my daily routine.
And it definitely wasn’t just about avoiding the extra clean‑up after my son’s daily bacon‑and‑eggs ritual.
(Though I won’t lie, that part did feel pretty good!) 😉
The best part for me was: the connecting.
Hanging out with my big sister and her family.

Catching up with my former Toronto roommate, and seeing her sons for the first time in over a decade.
Having lunch with my cousin and her new fiancé.
And finally meeting my EFT tapping teacher, Jacqui Acree, in person, after a year of seeing her only on zoom.
I got to slow down and have long, heartfelt conversations with people that matter.
Laughing about the places we used to live.
The lives we’re living now.
And the stories that tie 🪢 it all together.
Those small, ordinary moments where you feel seen and valued by someone who knows you and gets you.

And where you get to do the same for them.
It’s in those special moments when I felt most energized. Most alive.
Most like my true self.
Coming home to Vancouver, it hit me again…
In that quiet, undeniable way…
Deep, meaningful connection isn’t just a “nice to have.”
For me, it’s essential. 💫
Because “connection” is one of my top values.
It’s what brings me joy, lights me up, and reminds me of who I really am.
Maybe it’s the same for you?
Or maybe it’s something else entirely.
And if you’re not quite sure what that is yet — that’s ok.
I made a short video where I share why knowing your core values matters so much.
And I offer a few self-reflection questions to help you explore your values. So you can figure them out.
Because when we know what matters most, everything else starts to make more sense.
And life feels soooooo much more like our own.
Here’s to what truly matters…
And to the quiet joy of a bacon‑and‑eggs‑free stove now and then! 😉
