What drains your energy — and simple ways to restore it now

Have you ever done something just because you thought you should?

Even when it completely drains your energy?

(Come on, I know you have! 😉)

For me…it was cooking.

I spent years thinking I should love it.

That it was part of being a “good girl” and a good parent.

But the truth?

Cooking never brought me joy.

I tried convincing myself that if only I had better skills, then I’d love it!

Or that being a good cook meant being a “good mom.” 😮

But the more I tried, the more unhappy I felt.

Then a friend (also not a huge fan of cooking) recommended a simple solution…

Ordering pre-prepped healthy meals from a local Vancouver company.

That’s it.

No fuss, no muss.

No guilt.

Meals made with quality ingredients delivered right to my door. 💃

Suddenly, my weekly dinner prep for my son and I stopped feeling like a huge chore.

I had more time, less stress.

And most importantly…

More energy in my day.

(I’ve been ordering those pre-prepped meals every second week since 2019!)

It was a tiny change, but it’s had a BIG impact on my life.

It reminded me that joy often lives in the small, practical choices we make.

And that it’s ok to find joy in the places that others do not.

(I know lots of women who LOVE to cook! Yay you, if you’re one of them!) 🙌

The truth is, most of us don’t stop to notice what drains our energy.

But those small energy-drainers quietly add up.

If you’ve ever wondered what drains your energy, it might look like:

😑 Helping a friend or family member repeatedly, even when your own to-do list feels overwhelming.

😑 Doing the same household chores over and over, with no end in sight.

These everyday energy-drainers might seem small, but they can take their toll on you.

Leaving you feeling flat, stuck…

And disconnected from your joy and what matters most.

But here’s the good news…

Once you see clearly what drains your energy, even one small, practical shift can make a big difference.

That’s exactly why I created The Joy Reset Toolkit.
